  Clare Caving Club - Trip Log Glencurran Cave Trip Overview Location : Glencurran cave, Burren Date : June 8, 2025 Participants : Paul McGrath, Owen O'Connell, Michau Pe, Colin Bunce Trip Leader : Colin Bunce Trip Difficulty Level : Difficult Weather Conditions : Dry Cave Description The club have been digging this cave summer 2024 and again this year. Currently we are part way into grit crawl. This trip was to see how much farther we have to go. Entrance : Route: As far as Evolution alley (for some!) Trip Description: Everyone got as far as the start of grit crawl, Paul and Colin managed to go on through grit crawl with a bit of trouble. Michau and Owen did a bit of digging. Equipment: Knee pads!!! Highlights : 2 bats in evolution alley - that's a long way in, possible 2nd entrance. Fergus River Cave - May 2025

Fergus River Cave The landowner does not allow trips without explicit permission for a caving trip, the entrance is on an active farm and the field used for access always has livestock. No trespassing without permission. This cave is extremely flood prone and should not be visited unless weather conditions are appropriate.  This cave is arduous and route finding can be challenging.  This is one for experienced cavers - seek local knowledge before attempting a visit. Gonzo! 9/2/25 Today Michal, Milo and Arek went for some SRT training 💪  The frost seems to be gone and Gods of rain went for a break.... why not use the opportunity of a bit smaller water flow in the well known and famous waterfall at the bottom of the Poll Gonzo.

Coolagh River - Polldonagh South to Main Drain. 9th Feb Group : John Sweeney Des Mc Nally Jarek Banasiak Rowena Sheen Paddy Griffin Andrew Gillispie (visiting caver) Weather :  Dry and settled. 7 Deg / Water 5 Deg Parking :  side of road. Small pull in spot opppsite entrance field. Will fit max 4 cars.  Trip Length :  3 hours 15 mins Cave was enter it via the New pipe installed by Pegasus Caving Club. Water levels were low. First section over double passage was completed without hitch. Old rope at Columb chamber. Use with caution. Continue through Gower passage. Pitch head has two petzl permanent and one spit. Handline in place. Do not use! Rig ladder of the spit and lifeline with a mixture of permanent’s, sling on nodule and spit. (Club should consider rigging for Y Hang and making old spit redundant). Rapid descent to  main drain in cold conditions. Reached terminus and retreated out. Evidence of a survey (red paint) being undertaken and flood debris at 6+ Mtr...

Proceeded via dry pitch through block chamber to Marmite passage/ the ringpeice formation (which may have partially collapsed?) TO the head of the wet pitch.
