Description

Great mix of trips today - the club hosted a club tryout day for novices/ beginners (welcome to all 6!) with simultaneous trips for more advanced cavers to the nether regions of the cave. Highlights include 'the walk in the dark' & Michau/ Lucasz spotting an inscription from 1943 from Jack Coleman and N. Dunnington. (location "When you pass Craven Canyon going from Pollnagolum side (that wide but low part full of water)  Of you take the right turn into Poll Elva and keep going straight instead going right again. There is low muddy passage. That stone is sitting there in the middle approx 5-8 m from that junction")

John S  kindly pre-rigged the entrance and the climb down from Shaft to gunman rigged (for assisted climb, protection provided using a belay managed by Italian hitch)  by Tim/ Rowena. Thanks to all for making the day iontach mhaith ar fhad.
